Reflection of the course

In the beginning when the class first started, I did not know that this was the type of class I was going to take. I thought I was just taking a regular english class like I did last semester. When we first started working on projects for the class and all of the stuff that went into it, I freaked out and thought I would never be able to pass the class. It still is somewhat difficult, there is a lot that goes into getting information for the project, putting it together and then posting it. It is a lot of work and can be very stressful, and I get stressed out really easy. It also doesn't help that I procrastinate on a good portion of the work. Over all though, I enjoyed the class much more than I thought I would. I did learn a lot, and I know I will be able to use it for the future.

My favorite project that we did all semester I believe was the mulitmodal project. I enjoyed finding out the different research for the topic, as difficult as it was to actually find; it was interesting. I was really happy when my project was finished, because well I didnt have to do any more, but I liked the outlook and the finished product.

I think if I could go back and change what I did over the semester I would have not procarastinated the work as much as I did, then maybe I would have been able to improve on some of the stuff put into the projects, and gotten a better grade possibly.

Synthesis Blog

I find that when I have to write an academic paper, it is difficult for me to put my thoughts into words on paper. I know what I want to say it is just that matter of it making sense when I write it down. I sometimes jump from one point to the next trying to say what I am thinking and it does not come out right. I think it is easier for me to write creatively rather than academically because you are writing about how you feel, and your opinion. You are free to write any way that you want with out having to write a certain way for a class or something. I think that the most difficult aspect of integrating sources into writings is having it make sense with the topic and putting it in the right place so it backs up with what you are saying in the academic paper. I think that putting in the hyperlink into our mulitmodals were a little easier because you click the word with the hyperlink in it and it takes you straight to the source where you got your infomation from. It can help explain better with what you are saying in your paper, it goes more in depth. It can bring more understanding about the writing.

My Claim

Computer Graphics for animation in films is better than hand-animation because it is more efficient in the indusrty, and less time consuming. Even though hand-animation did a lot for films, it is outdated for its time.

Multimodal Response Blog

When you were writing your Multimodal Informative essay, what choices did you make about audience and purpose? I want to know who you think your audience may be for your multimodal, and I want to know what you think your purpose is for writing.

What are you most proud of in the design, organization, and presentation of your multimodal? What would you have improved on had you had greater technical knowledge?

Do you think you allotted enough time to work on the multimodal?

Additionally, comment on your selection of research, supplemental sources, and any other decisions you think are relevant.

When writing my multimodal essay I made the choice of animation in the movies because most people go to the movies, and critiques the film they saw. I wanted to go into detail aout how graphic animation has changed the movie business through out the years. I think my audience could mostly be anyone or in peticualar individuals who are interested in computer graphics. When creating my multimodal I would have to say i'm mostly proud of all the different information of how movies are created with computer technology, and also how it effects jobs. I think the video I put in the hyperlink went really well when I was talking about how animation used to be created by drawing each piece out individually. The video showed an artist creating a scene from "Beauty and the Beast." I found it quite interesting. I think that I should have alotted some more time on the essay, and maybe found a little more information, but all and all I think I am satisfied with it.
